Area Chamber of Commerce members are listed both alphabetically by
business name and by classified category. Additional high visibility to
potential customers is also made available through inexpensive display
advertising. A wealth of community information and the annual calendar
of events are additional features of this publication which is a

members to post descriptions of their business, list job openings, post

“The Chamber
Connection”:
Each month the Chamber newsletter is produced and distributed by the
Brownwood
Bulletin
to area residents and businesses. Also all Chamber members receive a
copy in the mail. The calendar of events and a variety of informative
articles makes this a well read publication. New members are introduced,
thus providing new Chamber members a unique FREE opportunity to promote
their business. Ribbon Cuttings are also published thus showcasing new
members in two publications. The Business News Clips allows great
free publicity to any Chamber member for making announcements pertaining
to new developments in their business, such as new management, store
hours, awards, or anniversaries. Members Only may place ads in the
newsletter through the Brownwood Bulletin at a reduced rate. Valued @ $200.00
Brownwood Business Showcase:
Held in September at the Brownwood
Coliseum this exhibition style trade show encourages local residents to
attend to discover the products and services available in the community.
Booths are available to Chamber members at the discounted rate of $125,

Ribbon
Cutting/Plaque Presentation:
Upon joining the
Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, new businesses are encouraged to
host a ribbon cutting ceremony at no cost to the business. Existing
Brownwood members who relocate, renovate and or expand are also invited
to hold a ribbon cutting celebration. Among the guest list are the
Chamber’s Ambassadors, City of Brownwood officials and media. Free
publicity (including photo) is provided in the Brownwood Bulletin and
the Chamber Newsletter. Members who wish to host a ceremony should
contact the Chamber staff at least two weeks in advance to schedule a
date.

GROUNDBREAKING
CEREMONY: New businesses as
well as Chamber members who build a new facility are encouraged to hold
a groundbreaking ceremony (at no cost to the member) prior to
construction. Among the guest list are the Chamber’s Ambassadors, City
of Brownwood officials and media. Members who wish to host a ceremony
should contact Chamber staff at least two weeks in advance, to
schedule a date. Ceremonies are scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, or
Thursday at 11:30am or
4:30pm

Member Sponsorships:
High visibility and advertising value is
offered to members who sponsor a Chamber event, such as the Monthly
Luncheon, Wake Up Wednesday, The Business Showcase, Business After
Hours , the Annual Awards Banquet, Legislative Day or the
Chamber’s Golf Tournament. As event sponsors, their name is
prominently displayed and promoted. Pre-event publicity and mailings
afford these Chamber member sponsors broad advertising exposure.
Monthly
Luncheons:
Held the third Friday
of every month, this event creates a perfect environment for members to
network with each other. Each luncheon offers door prizes and allows
guest speakers to keep members up-to-date on the latest news and
events. Attendance ranges from 60-100 guests, with the cost for
sponsorship just $75. Value

Wake
Up Wednesdays: Held the fourth
Wednesday of every month. A come and go format from 7:45 to 8:45 am
that offers members an opportunity to visit with fellow members in an
informal setting.
Business After Hours:
Held at different Chamber members
locations, these networking events bring together an average of 50-60
people. Chamber members have found these get-togethers a wonderful
resource for making contact with both current and prospective clients.

active and dynamic committees that cover a wide range of interest such
as Member services, (Feels Like Home Ambassadors), Community

Labels-Database: One free set
of labels of the 500+ members of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce
is available to new members at their request. It is the most
comprehensive “who’s who” of Brownwood area business and will allow you
to develop a database of business prospects and target your marketing
efforts. Additional labels are available to Members
for $50.

Rate Permit
–Members are allowed to use the chambers bulk rate mailing permit for
$20 per mailing (not including postage). All pieces must be properly
sorted per postal regulations.

Referral Service: Each month
the Chamber averages 300 to 400 inquiries requesting information about
the Brownwood area from tourists, those interested in relocating to the
area, the business community and the general public - all potential
customers! Members are always given as referrals to these inquiries.
The Chamber encloses the member directory in hundreds of visitor
packets, university student welcome packets and relocation information

Promotional
Displays: Members are welcomed
to display promotional material such as brochures, business cards,
announcements, etc., in the lobby of the Chamber office. Tourists,
visitors, and business representatives visit the office daily and often
request information about local businesses and Chamber members.

Bucks”: The “Brownwood
Bucks” is a Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce members program.
The bucks can be purchased at a discounted rate, and the card can be
viewed as a perk for being a member of the Chamber of Commerce or as an

this “Shop Local” program.

Deductibility: Membership in the Chamber is deductible as a necessary business expense.
Business Seminars:
The Chamber sponsors workshops and
seminars on such topics of interest to businesses as marketing, taxation, and employee issues such
benefits, testing, and legal and testing.
BUSINESS AND POLITICAL CONTACTS – The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce provides its membership various opportunities to network with fellow members and establish business and political contacts.
