Advocate for Business
The Chamber is the voice of the business
community in local, county, and state issues
representing the business community in problem
solving and promoting economic development. Of
special note, the Chamber:

Continues to train current and future
community leaders through the Leadership
Training Program, now in its 20th
year

Co-Hosts the well attended and informative
Business & Industry Breakfast

Maintains the Convention and Visitors Center
which provides local information to hundreds
of visitors annually

Continues to coordinate the activity of the
Brownwood Industrial Foundation, Inc., the
independent economic development arm of the
Brownwood Area Chamber

Conducts military appreciation events.

Sponsors the well attended and effective
Legislative Day in Austin which reinforces
the strong political influence of the
Brownwood Chamber

Is recognized as sponsoring one of the best
Texas Scholars Programs in the state,
providing $5,000-$10,000 in scholarships
each year to area graduates.

Has developed plans to market local tourism
assets such as hunting in Brown County,
conventions and meetings in Brownwood, and
attracting tourists to Lake Brownwood. The
Chamber is also supportive of Lake
Brownwood State Park to encourage the
improvement of the facilities.
Monthly Luncheons - Conducted to
encourage business-to-business and member
networking opportunities. Luncheons
usually feature a key speaker(s) and are
typically sponsored by a Chamber member.
Member Communications - Include monthly
newsletters and weekly broadcast e-mails
Business Training and Education -
Workshops and seminars designed to help
businesses meet the needs of today's fast-paced
business environment. Topics may broad
to have appeal to a majority of businesses or
they may be specific to meet the needs of
certain target audiences. Workshops and
seminars may be sponsored by the BACC or in
partnership with local, regional or state-wide
entities
