VanHorn 450The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, March 15th for Brianna VanHorn of VanHorn Photography.

Brianna grew up in California and discovered her love for photography when she was about 9-years-old. She dabbled in still-life and architectural photography mostly but it was just a hobby and a way to pass the time.

As she grew and learned, she started to view the world like an artist and that one word truly describes who she is today - artist . Her goal is to present beautiful, natural portraits that will give customers great joy every time they look at them. She photographs weddings, boudoir, family portraits and fine art photography.

Chamber to Host Town Hall Meeting March 31st Regarding MDD Election

LOGOpatch250The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting regarding the upcoming election to convert the Brownwood Economic Development Corporation to a Municipal Development District.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 31st at 5:30 PM at the TSTC Brownwood campus located at 305 Booker Street.

A short presentation will be given regarding the upcoming election on May 7th with a question and answer session to follow.

Young Leaders' Spring Social Set for March 22nd

These social events are an opportunity for local young adults to share ideas and engage with others passionate about making the community a better place to live, work and play.

This is an opportunity for young adults to get better connected in the community. Attendees can enjoy food and drinks, along with a chance to win some great door prizes – beginning at 5:30, Tuesday, March 22nd at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Chambers to Host County Commissioner Candidate Forum Feb. 19th.

Bwd EarlychambelogosThe Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and the Early Chamber of Commerce will host a forum for candidates running for Brown County Commissioner in the upcoming Primary Election. 

The forum will be held on Friday, February 19th at the Brownwood Country Club with the buffet lunch opening at 11:30 AM and the forum beginning at noon.  Cost is $14 per person for buffet lunch.

Candidates include: Brown County Commissioner Precinct 1 - Gary Worley (Incumbent), Tommy Blevins, Jimmy Trowbridge and Bob Contreras. Brown County Commissioner Precinct 3 - Wayne Shaw (Incumbent), Pat McLaughlin and Jessica Acker.

4th Annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair to be Held January 23rd

2013boothpic 450The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 4th annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair on Saturday, January 23rd at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center in Brownwood.

The fair will host a variety of vendors and will be a resource for soon-to-be brides in planning their special day. Vendors will showcase their products and services and will be available with tips, techniques, and ideas for the perfect wedding. Photographers, florists, DJs, party rental, and venues as well as other businesses are just a few of the types of vendors that will be on hand during the event.

The bridal fair provides an opportunity for future brides to meet with businesses, all in one location, to help assist in planning the big day. Door prize drawings will be taking place throughout the day as well, including a grand prize drawing.

The Brownwood Area Bridal Fair will take place from 11 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, January 23rd at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center (600 E. Depot Street). Admission to the show is free.

Beginning at 12:30 PM, participants can enjoy a wine tasting. Tickets will be available for $1 per tasting

Mayor Stephen Haynes to Give State of the City Address January 15th

Stephen Haynes 2011Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes will give his annual State of the City address at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Friday, January 15th.

 The luncheon will take place at the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Connection Center from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Cost is $15 per person and includes lunch.

 Mayor Haynes will recap the city happenings for 2015 and will talk about upcoming projects for the new year.  

 The luncheon is open to the general public. Reservations are required and payment can be made in advance at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce or at the door.

Brownwood Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting for Texas Custom Interiors

TexasCustomInteriors450The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Texas Custom Interiors on Tuesday, December 29th.

Texas Custom Interiors is located at 3510 Hwy. 377 S. in Brownwood Texas. Mitch Huser started visiting Brownwood on a routine basis while working for Travis Tile out of Austin in the 1980's. He found himself captivated with the Brownwood community and its people. In 2010 Mitch and his wife Barbara opened Texas Custom Interiors in Brownwood. Texas Custom Interiors inventories, fabricates, and installs granite, marble and quartz stone products.
