The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 4th annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair on Saturday, January 23rd at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center in Brownwood.
The fair will host a variety of vendors and will be a resource for soon-to-be brides in planning their special day. Vendors will showcase their products and services and will be available with tips, techniques, and ideas for the perfect wedding. Photographers, florists, DJs, party rental, and venues as well as other businesses are just a few of the types of vendors that will be on hand during the event.
The bridal fair provides an opportunity for future brides to meet with businesses, all in one location, to help assist in planning the big day. Door prize drawings will be taking place throughout the day as well, including a grand prize drawing.
The Brownwood Area Bridal Fair will take place from 11 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, January 23rd at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center (600 E. Depot Street). Admission to the show is free.
Beginning at 12:30 PM, participants can enjoy a wine tasting. Tickets will be available for $1 per tasting
The Bridal Fair is sponsored by Green Acres Rental, the Hideout Golf Club and Comet and Wilson Cleaners.
Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes will give his annual State of the City address at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Friday, January 15th.
The luncheon will take place at the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Connection Center from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Cost is $15 per person and includes lunch.
Mayor Haynes will recap the city happenings for 2015 and will talk about upcoming projects for the new year.
The luncheon is open to the general public. Reservations are required and payment can be made in advance at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce or at the door.

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Texas Custom Interiors on Tuesday, December 29th.
Texas Custom Interiors is located at 3510 Hwy. 377 S. in Brownwood Texas. Mitch Huser started visiting Brownwood on a routine basis while working for Travis Tile out of Austin in the 1980's. He found himself captivated with the Brownwood community and its people. In 2010 Mitch and his wife Barbara opened Texas Custom Interiors in Brownwood. The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Quilter's Hide Out on Friday, December 11th.
Quilter's Hide Out is located at 923 Early Blvd. in Early Texas. Owner Vita Weehunt stocks a large selection of fabric, quilting fabrics, the latest sewing tools, accessories, patterns and a large selection of yarn for knitting and crocheting . The 2015 Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade was held in Downtown Brownwood on Thursday, December 3rd with thousands of spectators filling the streets to enjoy the annual event.
More than a dozen awards were presented to the various floats and entries in this year's parade for their hard work, creativity and participation.
This year's parade was sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway with the theme of "my favorite Christmas," and included floats, vehicles, walkers, horses, classic cars, marching bands and more.
