The Brownwood
Area Chamber of Commerce will host a professional conference, "Developing a
Growing Industry" for those interested in growing grapes and/or making wine.

selling grapes?" It will also cover questions that investors may have: "How do
I become a wine maker without a vineyard; What equipment do I need; and What's
the demand for Texas wine?"
Speakers include experts in viticulture (grape growing) and the Texas Wine
industry. There will also be a virtual tour of Texas vineyards and wineries.
The early bird registration fee is $25 by May 1st, and includes lunch and

Howard Payne
University, community fans and Chamber members hosted a luncheon to
congratulate the HPU Lady Jackets for having the most successful season in
school history. The Chamber also provided a $200 cash giveaway at
each of the three Lady Jacket basketball games, and the stands were packed for
the "home" team.
The Tournament was great for
Brownwood, as its economic impact was approximately $122,000.
